This is the hilarious moment a budding young triathlete excitedly dives head-first into what she thinks is a mound of freshly-laid snow but instead bounces off hard ice.
Polish triathlete Julia Sanecka, 17, was visiting the ski resort of Wagrain in the northern Austrian state of Salzburg when the incident took place.
She posted the video on Instagram for her modest following of 1,500 netizens, although over 41,000 have viewed the funny clip.
In the footage, the pretty athlete – who hails from the town of Gryfino in the north-western Polish region of West Pomeranian Voivodeship – is seen gearing herself up for the ‘snow dive’.
Barefoot and only wearing a swimsuit in the freezing conditions, Sanecka takes a run-up and then dives towards the cleared mound of snow at the side of the road.
However, instead of sinking into a fluffy blanket of ice crystals, the 17-year-old bounces off the hard service and ends up in a heap on the road, red-faced.
Sanecka later wrote on social media: “Next time, I will check what I am about to jump into, but at least I am laughing!”
The triathlete, who practices swimming, cycling and running, first started competing when she was just five years old.
She told local media: “Triathlon is everything. It has always played a big role in my family and I cannot imagine life without the discipline”.
