Lufkin, Texas Police officers placed a 33-year-old suspected shoplifter into custody after a foot chase. While in custody, the female suspect managed to slip out of her handcuffs, climb through the window of the police cruiser and then take off with the vehicle with police in chase. The suspect lead police on a high-speed chase with speeds of up to 100MPH and police could see her reaching for a shotgun that was locked down in the cruiser. Officers were able to end the chase with a classic pit maneuver that caused the suspect to crash the police cruiser. The reckless suspect had no respect for the law and was charged with escape causing serious bodily injury/threat of a deadly weapon, aggravated assault against a public servant, possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest with a vehicle with a previous conviction and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
