The incident took place at Welcomhotel by ITC in Dwarka, in northern India's Delhi, on November 23.

Visuals show that during their haldi ceremony, bride Tanyaa and groom Kushagra made a grand entrance as guests held vibrant hydrogen-filled balloons and pink powder filled the air. Suddenly the balloons erupted into flames, causing panic and scattering guests while the couple sustained burns on their face, back, and hands.
According to reports, bride Tanyaa suffered burns on her face and back, while groom Kushagra sustained burns on his fingers and back. Their hair was also singed in the accident. Reflecting on the ordeal, the couple shared, "On a day we were meant to look our best, we ended up layering concealer to cover injuries, trimming burnt hair, and coloring it to hide damage."
The couple explained that their original plan involved releasing hydrogen balloons first, followed by spraying colors during their grand entry. However, in the chaos, a color gun was accidentally aimed at the balloons, causing them to ignite and explode. Despite the frightening incident, the celebrations continued. They wrote, "As they say, the show must go on. And it did. Despite the hiccups, we still enjoyed our varmala ceremony and had an unforgettable day. It wasn't perfect, but it remained one of the most beautiful days of our lives."
Tanyaa and Kushagra emphasized that their experience should serve as a lesson for everyone. They urged people to prioritize safety over trends, stating, "No celebration is worth risking lives." Their account, shared in a now-deleted post, highlighted the importance of cautious planning and awareness during elaborate wedding events. While the couple endured burns and property damage during the accident, their resilience ensured the rest of the ceremony went ahead, leaving behind memories of both excitement and caution.
