A mum claims 'the ghost of a miner's wife' floated past her in the street - only realising when a neighbour revealed footage of the ghoul 'disappearing'.
Jackie Batt had just returned from a walk last week [Feb 4th] when she received a message from neighbour Kerry-Anne Docherty wanting to share a video with her.
Eerie Ring doorbell footage of the 55-year-old strolling past Kerry-Anne's house shows a 'tall' woman dressed in 1940s clothing pass in the opposite direction.
Before she leaves the frame she appears to 'dissolve' into thin air.
Kerry-Anne, 46, questioned if the figure 'disappearing' could have been a glitch in the doorbell footage but Jackie insists the only person she walked past was a young man.
Jackie believes the hat-wearing woman to be the 'spirit of a miner's wife' as she says the area was built in the 1940s to house their families.
Kerry-Anne posted the video, captured at 7.07am, to Facebook where it has more than 400 reactions and 170 comments filled with users either convinced it's a spirit or a camera glitch.
Jackie, from Rugeley, Staffordshire, said: "I live in the same cul-de-sac as Kerry and every morning around the same time, I walk to the paper shop near us.
"Kerry-Anne messaged me and asked me if I saw a strange lady on my way to the shop and I couldn't recall her. I said all I had seen was a young lad.
"She then sent me her Ring doorbell footage and I said 'wow'.
"You see me walk past and then I can only assume it's a lady dressed in 40s clothing but I didn't see anyone. I would have remembered seeing her.
"As I saw the footage, it was amazing. Me and Kerry-Anne have debated it and asked whether it could have been a glitch but we didn't think it was.
"I am a believer and it's just surreal as I honestly didn't see anyone walking down the street at that time in the morning.
"The building where we live was built in the 1940s for the miners at the time. I can only assume it is a miner's wife.
"A lot of people confirmed the same online. Some have said it could have been a glitch or a shadow from me but I'm quite short and she's really tall.
"She looks like she disappeared into thin air. She looked like she had a long coat on with a hat and little wedged shoes and it was a strange one.
"I am a believer of ghosts but we've never had anything like this happen near us before."
Kerry-Anne said she regularly checks her Ring doorbell footage as there had been a recent break-in nearby and likes to see what is going on in the street.
The mum-of-one said she's a paranormal sceptic but has struggled to find an explanation for her spine-tingling footage.
After sharing it on Facebook last Wednesday [Feb 5th] she said some people believe it's a spirit while others were quick to debunk it.
Kerry-Anne, also from Rugeley, Staffordshire, said: "I'm not paranormal-minded so I thought there had to be another explanation.
"I've got lots of people saying 'oh it's a spirit'.
"At one point when she's walking past another neighbour's house you can see the gate through her.
"She looks like she dissolves into thin air at the end too.
"This estate was built in the 40s and it looks like she's in 40s clothing.
"She looks tall, quite thin and like she's wearing black shoes with a slight heel and tights. It looks like she's got a coat, a skirt and a hat on.
"When Jackie said she didn't see anybody I was wracking my brain for other explanations and I questioned whether it was a glitch in the camera.
"I was in disbelief as I'm quite a black and white [thinker]. "
Kerry-Anne's Facebook post said: "This is some footage from my Ring doorbell yesterday morning.
"My neighbour in white heading right said she didn't see a woman walking past her and if you zoom in you see the woman walking left kind of dissolve and she looks see through.
"I'm not a paranormal believer (basically because I've never really witnessed anything) but I am now kind of sceptical.
"If anyone can shed any light [on this] I would be truly grateful."
One user said: "There are many possibilities. A spirit. Another dimension. Another timeline. A sentient being. All are possible."
Another added: "Looks like a lady from the 40s or something. Wow."
A third said: "It looks like a woman in clothing from the 1940s or 1950s. Even the hat and shoes look like they are from that period.
"Looks like you captured an apparition. Excellent capture."
However, one said: "It's most likely a signal dropout."
Another agreed and said: "Looks like a camera glitch as the person in white appeared past the point where the other started disappearing."
