A pet groomer went viral for 'transforming' a poodle into a Chihuahua in a grand reveal as she pulled back the shaved fur as if she was peeling it off.
Phone footage filmed inside the unnamed groomer's in Guangzhou, in China's southern Guangdong Province, shows the employees having a laugh with one customer's pet Toy Poodle.
After a session to remove its thick coat with the weather getting warmer, where they shaved its entire fur in one go, the groomers decided to wrap the giant piece of fur around the pooch.
Then, they removed the fur as if opening a package and out came the shaved poodle that now looked more like a tiny Chihuahua.
Another clip shows the groomer gently patting the shaved fur that is shaped like the dog it came from.
The video of the reveal attracted widespread attention on Douyin, the Chinese TikTok, notching up more than 180,000 likes and over 1 million shares.
A user titled 'Yantai Xiaolin' joked: "Hahahaha, will the poodle cry because it is so ugly that it no longer recognises itself?"
While 'Lord Xi' said: "Damn, I thought they were trying to skin a dog."
And 'godzilla' wrote: "I want to see what the dog looks like now!"
The Toy Poodle is the smallest among the three sizes of Poodles, which also include Standard and Miniature.
Known for their intelligence, elegance, and charming demeanour, Toy Poodles are highly trainable animals and popular show dogs.
They typically stand under 10 inches tall at the shoulder and weigh between four to six lbs. With their curly, hypoallergenic coat that comes in various colours, they require regular grooming to maintain their signature look.
They are affectionate, lively, and adaptable, making them well-suited for various living situations, including apartments and family homes.
