This is the moment a bus with 10 people aboard skids frantically left and right on a wet road before crashing through a barrier and dangling dangerously from a bridge.
The dramatic accident happened in the county of Baoying in Yangzhou, a city in China’s eastern Jiangsu Province.
CCTV footage dated 16th April shows the red bus driven by Geng, who was identified by his surname, coming down the sloped Baoshe River Bridge when he appears to brake behind a queue of traffic.
However, the 53-year-old’s bus slides on the wet road surface and veers wildly to the right and then the left again at 3:37pm local time.
The vehicle then cuts across several lanes, avoiding all other cars, before slamming into the crash barrier and launching itself over the edge.
Footage taken in the aftermath of the accident shows Geng’s bus hanging off the bridge, with the front of the vehicle resting on the road below.
The authorities said the bus was carrying 10 people including the driver, who is employed by the Baoying Car Transport General Company.
Two people were injured during the accident and were taken to hospital for treatment.
Their exact conditions have been not revealed.
Geng’s bus has been since towed away and traffic has resumed while further enquiries continue.
