This is the moment a woman stretching her legs on the pavement cheats death when an out-of-control taxi crashes into the kerb just inches away from her.
The dramatic and high-speed crash happened in the city of Shenyang, capital of north-eastern China’s Liaoning Province, on 8th May, with the woman somehow escaping without a scratch.
Footage from the junction at North 5th Road and Shengli North Street shows the lucky woman with her back turned to the action as she exercises while balancing herself against a street light.
The cabbie suddenly careers into view behind her and she is unable to move out the way before the taxi slams into the kerb right next to the pavement where she is standing.
The violent impact against the concrete sends the front of the taxi spinning away from the woman, rear-ending a parked pedicab before stopping.
The woman, who reports say has ‘cheated death’, walked away without any injuries, while the cabbie was found not to have come to any serious harm either.
According to witnesses, the taxi had been travelling straight when it collided with a turning car, causing the accident.
Investigations are still ongoing.
