This is the moment a chicken suddenly falls out of nowhere and lands on the bonnet of a moving car as if it were hitching a ride.
The footage shows the yellow-feathered hen standing steadily on the front of the vehicle after dropping from above in the city of Guilin, in the Chinese region of Guangxi, on 19th December.
The driver, named only as Shi in local media reports, said she was driving along the road when the chicken suddenly fell from the sky and landed on her bonnet, leaving her startled by the unexpected impact.
She said she later drove to a safer area, stopped the car and caught the chicken before taking it home to keep.
The video shows the chicken remaining calm as it balances on the bonnet, occasionally moving its head while the car slows down.
Reports said the chicken had fallen from a lorry transporting poultry that was driving ahead of her.
The clip quickly drew reactions online, with one commenter saying: “This kind of luck is unbelievable, the chicken even chose the safest car.”
Another wrote: “Others pick up money on the road, she picked up a chicken.”
Several viewers also focused on safety, with one comment saying: “Transporting live animals must be secured properly, this could have caused an accident.”
Shi said she plans to continue raising the chicken and described the encounter as an unexpected but memorable experience.
