This is the moment a tourist who is glued to his mobile phone is knocked off a steep mountain path by a pack mule carrying cargo coming up behind him on the trail.
The incident happened during a climb to the Caishen Temple on Beigao Peak in the city of Hangzhou, in Zhejiang province in China, on 26th December.
The video shows the man standing on the edge of a narrow stone stairway while looking down at his phone as other visitors move along the path.
Meanwhile, a mule carrying loaded bags is being led uphill by an elderly handler and approaches the distracted tourist from behind.
Although the mule avoids direct contact with the man, its cargo bags strike him, causing him to lose his balance.
The man slips and tumbles down the steep slope beside the path.
People reportedly rushed to help and the emergency services were called.
The injured tourist was taken to hospital for treatment by ambulance, although his condition has not yet been disclosed.
The section of Beigao Peak leading to the temple reportedly includes narrow and steep paths where pack animals regularly transport goods.
Local authorities have said patrols are carried out twice daily by police officers, volunteers and security staff to check safety signage and emergency equipment.
The footage triggered widespread debate online over both visitor safety management and the risks of using mobile phones while walking on hazardous mountain routes.
