This is the moment a driver ‘cheats death’ when a giant boulder rolls off a mountain and crushes his car.
The dramatic accident captured on the dashcam of another vehicle on 6th October.
In the video, the white saloon car can be seen travelling on the mountain road towards the city of Lushui, which is in Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture in south-western China’s Yunnan Province.
The boulder rolls off the cliff to the right of the road and lands on the roof of the white car, smashing in the metal before bouncing off the vehicle and disappearing down the ravine to the left
The saloon car is stopped in its tracks and left with a huge dent in its roof as the mangled metal is caved in on the back seat.
The driver, who Chinese media report ‘cheated death’, survived in a narrow space at the front of the car and was later freed with the help of passers-by.
However, it was still unclear whether he required any treatment in hospital.
Footage taken in the aftermath of the freak accident shows the written-off saloon car misshapen almost beyond recognition.
Social media users said the motorist was lucky his vehicle was not pushed off the road, as it may have rolled down the ravine and into the waters of the Nujiang River below.
