This is the moment mesmerising crystal-like icicles hang in curtain formations across a mountain scenic spot after the entire area froze over following a winter storm.

The video was filmed at Dayang Mountain in the Jinyun District of Lishui, in Zhejiang Province, China, earlier this month (January).

Footage shows long, clear icicles hanging from trees, rock faces and cliff edges, creating curtain-like sheets of ice across the mountain following overnight snow.

Tourists are seen walking along paths, stopping to look up at the ice formations and taking photos of the wintry spectacle as snow covers the ground and surrounding forest.

The images quickly spread across social media, with some users admiring the scene, while others pointed out the hidden danger behind its beauty.

One user on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, titled 'ling' wrote: "Scary, it feels like a barrage of arrows that is about to be fired."

And user 'Happy Two Treasures' remarked: "Indeed, the more beautiful something is, the more dangerous it is."
