This is the moment two elderly people scramble to safety when a crane suddenly smashes through their roof while they were sitting at home.
The incident happened in Shantou, a city in Guangdong province in southern China, on Tuesday, 27th January.
Video footage shows the pair seated inside the house when a crane arm crashes down from above, breaking through the ceiling and sending tiles and debris falling directly onto them.
The elderly man is seen springing up in panic and stumbling as he tries to flee the collapsing area, while the other resident also moves away from the falling rubble.
The crane reportedly belonged to a construction site next door and fell after a fault occurred in its lifting arm during nearby building work.
Both elderly residents were reported to have suffered only minor skin injuries and were not seriously hurt.
It was later confirmed that the parties involved had reached an agreement to resolve the matter.
