This is the moment a motorcycle rider is hit by a car at a crossroads and ends up sitting on the vehicle’s roof.

The accident happened on Silan Highway in the city of Pu’er in south-western China’s Yunnan Province on 28th April.

Traffic camera footage shows the biker entering the junction and spotting the white hatchback approaching from his left-hand side.

Neither vehicle is able to stop in time, with the small car slamming into the motorcycle and launching its rider into the air.

The biker flips upside down, losing his mobile phone in the process, but ends up landing with his backside on the car roof instead of falling to the ground.

He sits there for a few moments before the hatchback driver brakes and stops, and the rider finally jumps off onto the road.

As the video ends, the rider stands back up and turns to the motorist who crashed into him, the footage shows.

Neither driver is believed to have been seriously injured during the traffic accident.

Pu’er police are understood to be investigating the case, with no arrests or fines announced at the time of writing.
