This footage shows an attempted insurance scam as a driver reverses into the car behind him before the victim points out that he has a dash cam and recorded the whole thing. The incident took place in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, in Kamchatka Krai, in far eastern Russia, on Tuesday, 8th April. The footage, filmed on the dashcam of the victim's car, shows a number of vehicles waiting at some traffic lights when all of a sudden, the car in front of the victim's vehicle starts reversing. It bumps into the victim's car, with a man then getting out of the vehicle and trying to make it seem as though the victim was at fault. But the man whose car was hit is having none of it and points out that he has a dashcam and has recorded the entire thing. The scam artist can be seen visibly annoyed that his attempted scam was filmed.
Local media reports said that the man is known in the area for staging accidents to make money.
At the time of writing, it was unclear if the police were investigating the footage.
