A passenger jumps out of a moving car in Itapetininga, Sao Paulo, Brazil. The incident was reported on Jun 03, 2025.
This is the moment a woman was caught on security camera throwing herself from a moving ride-hailing car after reportedly realising she did not have the money to pay for it.
The incident took place in Itapetininga, in Sao Paulo, in Brazil, on Tuesday, 3rd June.
In the video, the car is clearly still in motion when the passenger door swings open and the woman suddenly tumbles out onto the road. She is then seen getting up and walking away.
According to reports, the ride had been booked by a third party, starting in Jardim Shangri-La and heading toward the city centre.
The journey, which was expected to last about 10 minutes and cover nearly 4 kilometres, would have cost just BRL 10.40 (GBP 1.38).
Partway through the trip, the woman allegedly told the driver she couldn’t pay. Moments later, she opened the door and jumped out. The driver stopped, reversed to check on her, and was told she would transfer the fare later via Pix.
However, that payment never came through. The case was registered at the Itapetininga Police Station as a possible attempt to avoid payment.
The woman has not been publicly identified, and there is no official update on her condition following the fall.
The police are investigating.
