This is the moment a bus driver is thrown out the doors of his vehicle as it bounces down a steep street before crashing into a building.
The incident was filmed in the municipality of San Gil in the north-eastern Colombia department of Santander and shared on social media.
In the footage, a bus is seen flying down a steep street in reverse before bouncing off the road and careering into a parked car.
The back of the bus then smashes into a building and the driver is seen tumbling out of the open doors onto the road.
He is nearly run over by the out-of-control bus which finally comes to rest in the entrance of a local workshop.
According to local media, the bus driver suffered minor injuries while the bus caused damage estimated to be in the millions of COP.
Also, the Sergeant of Firefighters, Manuel Velandía, confirmed that Several buildings including the facades of five houses in the street and the bus itself were badly damaged while the parked car was reportedly a write-off.
The Traffic Secretary of Bogota has confirmed that the bus encountered a brake failure and that the driver is not to be held liable. The bus had also passed all the security procedures.
