This is the moment a mother pulls her young daughter out of the way at the last second as a car thunders towards them on the pavement after mounting the kerb.
The incident took place in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, in the south of the Brazillian state of Espirito Santo, at around 11 am on Thursday, 26th October.
In the footage, the unnamed woman can be seen walking on the pavement with her daughter slightly ahead of her.
There is also a man in a cap walking in front of them when the car suddenly approaches.
The vigilant woman can be seen pushing her daughter out of the way and into a snack bar, with both of them narrowly escaping being crushed.
The man walking in front of them also manages to get out of the way, but another man, who was out of shot, was apparently hit by the vehicle, with his feet seen on camera after he fell to the ground.
The man who was hit was reportedly struck from behind by the runaway car.
There were no reports of injuries to the woman and her daughter.
The driver of the runaway car, who has not been named, reportedly said that he had been feeling unwell that morning, which is why he lost control of the vehicle.
The military police reported that the car driver and a pedestrian were injured and were hospitalised.
They are investigating the incident.
