This is the shocking moment an SUV is thrown into a ravine after being hit by a sudden landslide while travelling along a mountain road during a deadly typhoon.
Dashcam footage shows rocks and soil crashing down onto the road before sweeping the black Ford Territory off the edge of a steep slope in Sa Pa, in Lao Cai province, Vietnam, on Monday afternoon, 29th September.
The Ford slid more than seven metres (23 feet) down the cliff and came to rest against the side of the ravine.
Amazingly, the driver, named as Dao Minh Due, and the two passengers identified as Le Van Chinh and Hoang Anh Tuan, survived with only minor injuries.
The front of the car was severely damaged, with the bumper, hood and lights broken and the windshield cracked.
The passenger compartment remained intact, with airbags and seatbelts protecting the three occupants.
Residents said the car slid down the slope rather than falling vertically, which helped reduce the impact.
Local people rushed to help the passengers out of the wreck before rescue crews arrived.
Authorities confirmed there were no fatalities and quickly blocked off the danger zone.
Rescue teams worked to move the damaged vehicle to a safe location.
The accident happened as Typhoon Bualoi brought heavy rain, strong winds and flooding to parts of central and northern Vietnam.
At least 13 people have been killed and 46 have been reported injured as the heavy storm wreaks havoc in Vietnam.
Local authorities have advised residents and tourists to limit travel to areas at risk of landslides during periods of prolonged heavy rain.
