This is the moment a wanna-be thief gets stuck in a window while trying to escape and begs the homeowner to take him to the police.

The incident happened in Jakarta, Indonesia, and footage of it was uploaded to social media on 21st September.

Video shows the man crying as he is caught and surrounded by local residents.

Some of them hold onto his shirt to stop him from slipping away.

Unable to escape, he reportedly pleaded with the homeowner to take him to the police station.

One social media user commented: "Let him be stuck for three nights."

Another said: "Taking someone else's rights without permission is still wrong. Let him be punished for his actions."

A third one wrote: "Move the table further away and just watch while drinking coffee, pretending not to hear anything."

Local authorities have so far not commented on the incident and it is currently unclear if the suspect was eventually arrested.
