This is the shocking moment a gas cylinder exploded beside a mother who was washing dishes in the kitchen.
CCTV footage shows the powerful blast hurtling the woman 5ft away from the sink due to the impact in Jakarta, Indonesia on June 6.
There was a spark, and the resident was seen being thrown off while the cabinets were torn around her followed by screams of panic.
Some of the furniture fell onto her, but she quickly stood up and dragged herself away from the area. She was not seriously hurt and police were called to the scene to check the blast.
Cengkareng Police Chief Commissioner Hasolon Situmorang said: ‘One victim, a household assistant with the initials IR, suffered minor injuries to his leg. The incident occurred when IR was washing dishes after cooking. The stove was not on at that time.'
Investigations are ongoing, but Police Commissioner Hasolon said the house owner suspected that it was caused by a loose and detached regulator hose from the tank to the stove.
He said: ‘According to the homeowner, it is suspected that the cause was a gas regulator hose that was loose and detached.'
