A mysterious three-moon phenomenon sparked doomsday fears among baffled locals in China.
The rare sight - which appeared earlier this week above Jilin province - was accidentally spotted by a woman wanting to snap a pic of the starry sky.
Footage of the celestial wonder shows two crescent moons shining with a heavenly body seen in between them that was variously described as either a smaller moon, distant planet or fading star.
The bizarre spectacle was reportedly seen for another half hour after it was first found.
Some locals suggested that the smaller moon-like shape seen in the video could be the result of light refraction caused by the camera's lens. However, others feared that it may be a sign of an oncoming catastrophe.
