Footage shows how a car driver narrowly avoided disaster when a train passed just inches away from the vehicle that the driver parked near the tracks.
A smartphone video recorded in the city of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, India, shows the express train moving slowly on the rail tracks to avoid slamming the vehicle on January 15.
Indian media revealed that the car ended up only being nicked on the side whilst the driver did not suffer any injuries.
The event reportedly occurred at the gatekeeper was closing the gate when the car managed to enter from underneath the barrier onto the railway line. Both sides of the gate were closed, trapping the car.
The gatekeeper quickly showed a red flag, bringing the train to a halt.
After the train stopped, with the help of bystanders, the car was positioned against the barrier. Then, the car was slowly and carefully taken out from near the train.
The gatekeeper was subsequently suspended from their job for negligence, local media said.
However, there has been no legal action against the car driver so far.
