This is the terrifying moment a wild leopard prowled through an office - casually walking by a boy playing on his phone.
CCTV footage shows the big cat strolling into the entrance and ignoring the 12-year-old child, who bravely stayed calm during the incident in Maharashtra, India on March 3.
The animal went further into the room and the quick-thinking schoolboy, realising what had just passed in front of him, hopped off his seat and went outside closing the door behind him.
He then ran across the property to call the adults and ask for help.
The security guard's son informed his father who called the police and forest officials.
A forest ranger later arrived and helped catch the five-year-old male leopard by tranquilizing it and returning it to its habitat.
The development of homes in and around forests has lead to an increase in the number of leopard sightings in recent years - often resulting in deadly conflicts.
However, the leopard population in India has still grown from 12,852 in 2018, to 13,874 in 2022, according to the 'Status of Leopards in India 2022' report, released by the Union Environment Ministry on February 29.
