A hero station guard saved a passenger who slipped from a moving train and was dragged along the platform - inches from the wheels.
Digambar Desai showed lightning-fast reactions when he spotted the passenger flailing from the carriage in Pune, India, on March 27.
CCTV shows Digambar running towards the man and with judo-like precision, grabbed the man by the collar with his right hand.
Composed Desai then spun to his left while pulling the man with him, so that both of them were kept away from danger.
Onlookers were shocked when they witnessed the dramatic incident unfold on the railway platform.
While modest Desai shrugged off his act of heroism and said he was simply doing his job.
He said: 'I reacted instinctively when I saw the passenger in danger. I'm relieved he is safe. I would do the same again as it is my job.'
Officials said the passenger had lost his grip on the door handle while trying to board the moving train and fell awkwardly.
Commuters who witnessed Desai's life-saving manoeuvre praised him for preventing a potentially fatal accident that could have resulted in the man being crushed under the wheels of the locomotive.
The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) in Pune, Maharashtra state, said: 'Amidst the hustle at Pune station, MSF staff MrDigambar Desai's quick action and bravery saved a passenger from a near-fatal accident on board train 11301 Udyan Express. It was a true testament to the dedication to passenger service.
'Passengers are requested to avoid boarding or deboarding running trains. Your safety is our priority.'
