Footage shows volcanic eruption and Sundhnuksgiga with lava flowing and smoke spewing from the crater on March 28.
Icelandic Civil Protection employee Bjorn Oddsson said the scene was intense and powerful when he recorded it.
There was no indication when the eruption would end so residents and authorities alike remained vigilant in monitoring its developments.
