This is the moment a section of the roof of a house is vaporised leaving behind a shower of sparks after a lightning strike.
The footage shows heavy rains in the mountainside village near Zunyi in Guizhou, China, on April 18.
But the peaceful scene was suddenly shattered when there was a loud last followed by a shower of sparks as the lightning struck the roof of a house.
The molten fragments cascaded down the side of the remaining roof and scattered onto the ground before fizzling out in the heavy rain.
Fortunately, the house that was formerly owned by an elderly man who later died was empty and had been so for the last decade so nobody was harmed.
