Teachers converted a classroom into a swimming pool amid hot weather in India.
Footage shows the schoolchildren splashing in two-feet-deep water in the makeshift pool at a primary school in Mahsaunapur, Uttar Pradesh on April 30.
The school principal Vaibhav Rajput said: 'The mercury level has been between 38 to 40 degrees Celsius for the past few days. This has reduced the number of children in the school drastically.
'But after a classroom of the school was filled with water, children started coming. They are now studying and are also getting relief from the heat by swimming.'
India is being scorched by an extreme heat wave as temperatures reached up to a whopping 45 degrees Celsius on April 29.
Schools in several parts of the South Asian country have already suspended classes due to the blistering weather.
The India Meteorological Department said hot conditions were expected in east India and the south peninsular region over the first week of May.
