Workers employed the unmanned aerial vehicle to take out the black plastic film hanging from the high voltage cables between pylons in Urumchi, Xinjiang, China, on April 28.
Footage shows the staff strategically piloting the device and even deploying flames to melt the object without damaging the lines.
The electric company said it has been utilising drones this year to eliminate objects that pose a threat to the power lines and prevent outages for residents.
