This is the moment water flows red in a Chinese river with authorities insisting it would not affect the local drinking water supply in China.
The affected water was in the Minjiang River which flows through Chuanzhusi in Songpan County, in Sichuan Province, and was captured in a video on May 31.
The Songpan County Ecological Environment Bureau and the Songpan County Water Affairs Bureau issued a notice the same day confirming that they had received an emergency report from the Chuanzhusi Town People's Government that the water in the Chuanzhusi section of the Minjiang River was abnormally red.
SongpanCounty immediately organised the ecological environment, water affairs and other departments to conduct a joint investigation.
On-site inspections revealed the abnormal water body extended about two kilometres (1.2 miles), and the water flowed brown-red.
The Songpan County Ecological Environment Bureau immediately collected samples and sent them to professional testing institutions for inspection, and at the same time comprehensively investigated the impact on drinking water along the MinjiangRiver.
It said that the water had no dangerous levels of heavy metals and was classified as non-toxic.
Experts have been called in to investigate further and find out the cause of the abnormal colour in the river.
