A hero bus driver saved a child who was choking on the road.
Niu Zilin spotted an elderly woman patting the back of the boy in the middle of the busy motorway in Henan, China, on October 14.
Footage shows the worker immediately stepping out of the vehicle and dashing toward the child to perform the Heimlich manoeuvre. After continuous pats on the back and rapid inward and upward thrusts, the child began to feel better, dislodging the candy from his mouth.
Niu said: 'When I got to them, I saw that the child was pale. The woman told me that she was the child's grandmother and that the child was choking on candy.'
The kindhearted rescuer then returned to the bus to continue his work after checking if the victim was okay.
The mother of the child, Ms Meng, and her family visited the bus company where the man works, bringing with them a pennant and bouquet of flowers as a thank-you gift to Niu Zilin for rescuing her son.
Mr Wang, a staff member of the First Operating Company of Luohe Public Transport Group, said: 'Niu Zilin is a very upright person and is very enthusiastic about helping everyone.'
In a different incident last month, an elderly passenger inside the vehicle operated by the same driver went into shock, causing Niu to transport the traveller to the hospital immediately.
