This is the amusing moment a light-footed duckling ran off with its food across lotus leaves in a pond.
The baby black-necked grebe was spotted carrying a piece of bread while dashing over the floating plants in the water in Yunnan, China, on October 14.
Footage shows the agile bird moving away from its sibling, who was chasing after him. After outpacing its brother, it nibbled on its snack.
The grebe is one of the most inefficient fliers among birds. Generally, they avoid flying whenever possible, reserving long-distance flight exclusively for migration.
