説明

This is the terrifying moment flames burst from the engine of a plane flying over Italy.
Footage shows trails of fire surging from the starboard side of the Hainan Airlines jet that was bound for Shenzhen, China, on Flight HU438 on November 10 morning.
The Boeing 787 reportedly suffered a bird strike while taking off from the Leonardo da Vinci Rome Fiumicino Airport in Rome. The strike was said to have caused a malfunction in its right engine.
The plane had just taken off when the engine problem was reported. It entered a holding pattern to expend fuel before landing at the same airport at around 11:06 am local time, around an hour after it had departed.
In a statement, Hainan Airlines said: 'On November 10th, 2024, Hainan Airlines flight HU438 (Rome-Shenzhen) encountered a bird strike on the right engine during takeoff. In order to ensure safety, the crew promptly returned to the airport according to procedures.
'The flight landed safely at Fiumicino Airport in Rome at 11:06 am local time (18:06 Beijing time), and all passengers disembarked in an orderly manner. Hainan Airlines will ensure proper follow-up assistance for passengers.
'We sincerely apologise for any inconveniences caused by this and we really appreciate all passengers for their understanding and support.'
No injuries or casualties were reported.
A bird strike occurs when a bird collides with an aircraft, often during takeoff or landing. This can damage the plane and, in severe cases, affect flight safety by damaging engines or other critical components.
