This is the terrifying moment residents trapped in an apartment block fire flee as a massive explosion rips through the roof.
Footage shows firefighters cautiously ascending the external fire exit stairs towards the roof in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China, on November 15.
Above them, flames are already shooting 15ft in the air as locals run through the flames toward the staircase.
Suddenly, a huge explosion erupts, sending burning debris flying as authorities take cover behind the apartment block wall.
A man is then seen running through the flames, losing his footing and sliding down the blaze escape on his backside.
As the video pans out, the entire roof can be seen engulfed in flames.
Local media reported that no injuries were sustained in the fire.
Licun Subdistrict Firefighters' Office said: 'The fire, emergency, public security, and street departments and units immediately rushed to the scene to deal with it.
'No casualties were caused at the scene. At present, the cause of the fire is under investigation.'
