Prisoners attacked a guard to escape from their cells in Indonesia.
Dramatic CCTV footage shows the officer unlocking the cell door at the Parigi Moutong Police Station in Central Sulawesi province on January 31, around 5:20 am.
Upon opening the barrier, a suspect charged at the worker. He was then followed by several other detainees who seized the chance at freedom.
Local media reported that a total of seven prisoners fled, with six facing serious drug charges and one for a minor theft case.
Head of Public Relations for the Parimo Police, Iptu Sumarlin, said: 'Seven detainees ran through the prison guards. The first man said he wanted to return the food container to the officer on duty. Then he pushed through and the door was left open.'
Police intensified efforts to catch the fugitives, successfully arresting all of them in under 24 hours.
The officer added: 'We continued to chase seven prisoners who had escaped. We paralyzed six of them because they tried to resist being arrested while one other prisoner surrendered himself.'
Authorities said they are continuing to investigate the incident and evaluate security measures at the facility.
