This is the amusing moment a cat froze in front of bemused passersby in China.
The orange feline was spotted motionless in the middle of the pavement, resembling a statue, in Haidian, Beijing, on January 16.
Footage shows locals approaching the furry creature, which remains still.
Moments later, its companion, a tuxedo cat, walked toward the animal and stood next to it.
The strange behaviour prompted entertained residents to film and take pictures of them.
Some onlookers speculated that the pair had seen a bird behind a bush, causing them to stand still and stay alert.
Cats are natural hunters. When they spot potential prey, they often freeze to avoid detection and to better observe their target. This behavior is deeply ingrained in their instincts.
