This is the heartwarming moment an eagle-eyed waste sorter rescued a cat he discovered among the rubbish.
CCTV footage shows workers in blue boiler suits cutting through plastics on a conveyor belt at a waste-sorting facility in Ulyanovsk, Russia, when one of them heard a faint meow coming from a white sack.
The man pulled the bag aside and carefully sliced it open, revealing a visibly confused tuxedo cat.
He then showed the feline to his colleagues, who were shocked and relieved that he had managed to save the animal.
The cat was reportedly unharmed, well-fed, and clean, showing signs of being a former pet.
It has since been rehomed and adopted by one of the employees.
