This is the terrifying moment a stray bull attacks a resident outside his home in India.
Footage shows the man, identified as Subhash, attempting to scare the bovine away with a stick before it charges and strikes him with its horns in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.
Subhash had reportedly tried to drive the bull away to protect children playing nearby, prompting the animal to turn on him instead.
The father was pushed into a nearby canal and was seen shouting for help before the aggressive bull backed off, and a woman appeared at the doorway on September 30.
Reports said the same bull had attacked another resident earlier in the area. Both individuals sustained multiple injuries.
Residents have called on municipal authorities to capture the animal and implement urgent measures to prevent future attacks. Municipal officials stated that a team, including veterinary experts, will soon be deployed to locate and restrain the bull.
In India, devout locals follow Hindu customs, with cows and bulls regarded as sacred animals that cannot be eaten or slaughtered once they have stopped producing milk. The majority of states ban the sale or slaughter of cows.
Instead of dealing with the economic burden of keeping their spent cattle, many farmers let the beasts roam the streets - leading to chaos when the animals become agitated and turn their fury on humans.
