This is the shocking moment a wooden bridge collapsed from the weight of a truck, sending it plunging into the river below.
Footage captures the overloaded lorry cautiously navigating the rickety structure in Maranhao, Brazil, on Friday, October 24.
Just moments later, the bridge gave way, causing the vehicle to topple onto its side and fall into the Alpergatas River, as stunned bystanders cried out for help.
Local reports confirmed the driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The bridge, located near MA-272, is a significant route for both residents and drivers transporting goods in the area.
Locals have reported that the bridge had been showing signs of deterioration for at least three months. Witnesses also said the strong current of the river swept the truck away.
