This is the shocking moment a grill exploded as a group of friends cooked food in a front yard.
CCTV footage shows men cooking a barbecue for dinner when the stone slabs they were using exploded in Pingtung, Taiwan, on October 5.
Sparks and embers can be seen flying everywhere, causing the startled youngsters to jump back to safety.
No one was injured in the incident.
Experts said that heating a rock or stone slab directly over fire can cause it to crack or even explode due to sudden thermal expansion and trapped moisture. When exposed to intense heat, different minerals within the stone expand unevenly, creating internal stress.
