Footage shows the brown, free-range chicken balancing on the nylon rope on a rooftop when it suddenly fell off the line in Hainan, China.
The bird can be seen struggling to stay still, perched precariously on the clothesline as it shifts its weight from side to side to keep steady on October 20.
However, the avian's balance faltered, and it slipped from the thin rope before plunging onto the floor.
It then shook itself off upon landing on the ground unscathed.
