説明

This is the astonishing moment a calf chased a lion away in a village in India.
CCTV footage shows a wild feline passing along a road as a bovine stands nearby in Amreli, Gujarat, on December 8.
After crossing the street, the big cat pauses and turns back, appearing to approach the calf around 3 am.
However, before it can strike, the calf suddenly charges at the lion with surprising speed, forcing the wild feline to retreat instantly.
Local media reported that two wild felines had been roaming the lanes of Sarovda village in search of prey when they encountered a pair of calves.
Residents have urged forest officials to increase patrols in the area to monitor lion activity and protect public safety.
Lion attacks on homes in India have become an increasing concern, especially in areas where human settlements encroach upon wildlife habitats.
The population of Asiatic lions in the Gir forests of Gujarat has grown from 523 in 2015 to 674 in 2020, as revealed in a report released by the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change.
The Gujarat tourism website states that the lion population was less than 200 in the late 1960s. A total of 239 lions, including 126 cubs, died in Gujarat in the last two years, with 29 of these fatalities being due to unnatural causes, as reported by Forest Minister Mulubhai Bera in the state assembly earlier this year.
