This is the astonishing moment a mechanic walked away just seconds before a car crashed into the back of a bus.
CCTV footage shows the worker tinkering with the engine of the stationary blue coach in Gujarat, India, on January 17.
The unsuspecting man, carrying a long piece of equipment, had shuffled to the side of the road when the speeding grey SUV ploughed into the rear of the vehicle, striking the exact spot where he had been standing moments earlier.
The front of the car was crushed by the impact, with debris scattered across the asphalt.
The worker froze in place, staring in shock at the damaged car he had narrowly avoided in a miraculous moment of fate, with a few steps taken at the right time saving his life.
Passengers can be seen walking towards the back of the bus after hearing a loud bang, while the man in the black long-sleeved shirt eventually walked over to his friends standing on the other side of the wreckage.
The man reportedly did not sustain any injuries in the incident. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
