This is the shocking moment a grumpy bull headbutted a pensioner and flung him through the air.
CCTV footage shows the elderly man, Lalji Patkar, standing casually outside his home near a pair of bovines in India
Moments later, one of the beasts appeared to take umbrage with the resident wandering too close into his personal space.
The beast charged and lifted the unsuspecting local with its horns, violently throwing him to the ground outside homes in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh.
Onlookers rushed to Lalji's aid, helping him to his feet on January 26, while the bull appeared unbothered by the attack.
A neighbour also stepped out and scared the animals away with a stick.
Authorities confirmed that the pensioner suffered a broken bone and serious internal injuries.
India has hundreds of thousands of cows roaming its streets.
It is partly due to devout locals who follow Hindu customs, with cows regarded as sacred animals that cannot be eaten or slaughtered once they have stopped producing milk. The majority of states ban the sale or slaughter of cows.
Instead of dealing with the economic burden of keeping their spent cattle, many farmers let the beasts roam the streets - leading to chaos when the animals become agitated and turn their fury on humans.
