CCTV footage shows the man, wearing a helmet, riding a scooter and losing his balance after sharply braking to give way to a white hatchback moving into his lane in Kerala, India.
He is seen plunging headfirst into the open waterway as his two-wheeler topples onto its side on Mananchira-Vellimadukunnu Road on February 18.
The hatchback immediately stopped, and nearby motorists rushed to help him out of the drain while others repositioned his scooter.
