This is the dramatic moment a sanitation worker discovers a wanted suspect hiding in a trash bin.
Footage shows the collector pushing the bin near a truck on a roadside in Ohio during routine garbage collection.
When the lid was lifted, he was stunned to see the suspect inside on Monday. The man immediately leapt out and ran away.
The quick-thinking worker alerted officers who were already searching the surrounding area.
Authorities said the suspect had fled a traffic stop earlier and was later taken into custody.
The Huber Heights Police said in a statement: 'Officer Tyree initiated a traffic stop. Upon stopping the vehicle, the driver fled on foot. The Officer briefly lost sight of the suspect and quickly established a perimeter in the area.
'As luck would have it, 'Oscar the Grouch' - as we've nicknamed our suspect - appeared at just the right place and the right time. Thanks to the impressive athletic ability and swift response of our very own Officer Perez, the suspect was safely apprehended.'
