This is the shocking moment an explosion ripped through an alleyway as children were playing nearby.
CCTV footage shows seven girls standing outside their homes when a sudden blast sent wall panels, tarpaulins, and debris flying through the narrow walkway in Rizal, the Philippines.
The startled youngsters can be seen running to safety as smoke and dust filled the air, while residents rushed out of their homes on February 25.
Poles and canopies were scattered along the alley, and locals gathered at the scene, visibly confused and alarmed by what had happened.
Moments later, family members from the house where the explosion originated were heard screaming and crying upon seeing their relatives injured.
Men at the scene helped carry the victims out of the house and reportedly rushed them to the hospital.
Resident Peejay Sibug said a portable LPG stove exploded while the family was cooking lunch.
Local media reported that five residents suffered burns, and one was wounded on their forehead.
Four victims were taken to Tondo Medical Centre, and another was admitted to Navotas Hospital.
An eyewitness said one of the victims, identified as Mayet, suffered severe burns and is currently recovering.
The Navotas City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the Bureau of Fire Protection are still investigating the cause of the incident.
Authorities also reminded the public to regularly inspect LPG tanks and cooking stoves to prevent similar accidents.
