A driver was arrested after allegedly attempting to ignite a petrol station in southern Brazil.
CCTV footage shows the suspect crouching beside a white vehicle while customers and attendants stand nearby in Santa Catarina on Sunday morning.
Moments later, he is seen allegedly igniting fuel spilt on the ground in Orleans, sending people fleeing from the sudden flames.
Military Police said the 28-year-old was found across the street, shirtless, injured, and behaving erratically. He was detained for safety reasons and taken to the Criciuma Flagrant Crimes Centre, while firefighters were called to contain the situation.
Witnesses said fuel had been spilt on the forecourt before the man approached and used a lighter to set it alight.
The fire spread towards the pumps and nearby vehicles being refuelled.
When officers attempted to restrain him, the suspect reportedly resisted, lashing out and injuring another local. He also tried to return to the scene to ignite another fire before leaving as the police arrived.
An investigation is ongoing.
