The vehicle lost control and sent thousands of pieces of the fruit tumbling across the road in Valea Plopilor, Romania, on June 25 in the afternoon. A second lorry which was carrying corn collided with the vehicle and also sent its cargo onto the highway. Footage shows how locals who were in the area at the time converged on the scene to collect the stray goods. One driver said: ''The first lorry was carrying melon from Alexandria to Bucharest. Another was also carrying corn. They both spilled food everywhere on the DE 70 road and people were very busy collecting it.''
