A man was shot on a Mendocino County road by three sheriff’s deputies after he allegedly opened fire on them with a .50-caliber semiautomatic handgun. The deputies returned fire, and the man was struck at least twice inside the van. The suspect was airlifted to an out-of-county hospital. His injuries were called non-life-threatening. This is another example of the dangers the law enforcement community faces while protecting their communities.
