This is the moment a steel structure collapses onto the stage during a concert by singer and pianist who manages to move away in time and escape injury.
The accident happened in Piazza Marina Nuova in Agnone Cilento, in the province of Salerno, Italy, on Saturday evening, 30th August.
Video shared online shows the truss supporting part of the stage lighting system suddenly give way and crash to the ground.
Singer Raphael Gualazzi can be seen abandoning the piano and quickly moving off stage with his hands on his head as the structure falls just steps away from him.
Two other musicians were also on stage and moved away at the same time.
None of them were injured and spectators can be seen reacting in shock.
Some rushed towards the stage while others moved away as security staff secured the area.
The show was interrupted and the square was cleared.
A statement from Gualazzi’s press office confirmed that he and his band were safe and that the tour continues in Galatina the following evening.
Local reports said the collapse may have been caused by problems with the assembly of the structure or by strong winds that day.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
